First release sell-out at historic Glasgow residential development accelerates new release

The first release of luxury homes at Park Quadrant Residences has sold out since being released in August, following more than 1,000 enquiries.

The new development, which is appealing to a wide range of buyers, will complete the original concentric ringed design of the 19th century masterplan for the prestigious Park Circus area of Glasgow, envisioned by architect Charles Wilson in 1851.

A high level of interest from downsizers is eschewing the notion that this market is looking for peace and tranquillity in a bungalow by the sea. They no longer require a large family home in the suburbs and are attracted to the contemporary luxury of this residential development in the highly sought-after city location with its security, ease of accessibility and lift access.

Sidesteppers, first time buyers, investors and those relocating to Glasgow are also amongst the buyers to secure the first release of 17 properties at Park Quadrant Residences.

The development is designed to be sympathetic to the area’s rich heritage, with its historic high-quality architecture often heralded as the finest example of Victorian townscape in the city. The exterior of the eleven buildings will speak of the grandeur of the era in which they were imagined, while the interiors will combine classic and contemporary design with every modern convenience.

The collection of 98 apartments, duplexes and penthouses will be ready for buyers to walk into, and will feature luxury flooring, premium Leicht kitchen furniture complete with integrated Gaggenau and Siemens appliances and exquisite Kohler bathrooms designed exclusively for the development.

A Residence Manager will be on hand to provide support services, from receiving deliveries and coordinating cleaning and maintenance to monitoring CCTV.

Gordon Coster, Director at Ambassador Developments Park Quadrant Limited, said; “We are very proud to be completing this missing piece in Glasgow’s history with the development of Park Quadrant Residences. There has been significant demand to date with over 1,000 enquiries from prospective buyers who are drawn to the high-quality design and scale of the properties, the first-class specification and the unrivalled city location.”

Carole Mackie, Head of New Homes for Scotland at Savills, said: “Since launching at the end of August, there has been considerable interest and sales in Park Quadrant Residences, which is appealing to a variety of buyers who have secured all 17 of the homes in the first release of the development. This has led to accelerating the release of a further selection of apartments to keep up with the demand.

“There is a new downsizer in Glasgow’s prime market who is cash-rich, having amassed considerable property equity, and their wish list is similar to that of the Dinky (dual income, no kids). Park Quadrant Residences is appealing to both of these markets, as well as to a number of investors, who are viewing Glasgow as very good value, compared with other prime locations across the UK.

“With downsizers looking for security, which is less about personal safety and more about the owners’ aspirations to lock and leave and travel the world, the exclusive Residence Manager, comparable to a high-end London or Manhattan apartment, is a very attractive feature of the development.”
